... and if we just ... Colorado Springs Group Ride - Weds 5/7 - Inflexibles Night Ride

there's talk of blue columbine this week (st. mary's via the pushover), who's interested?

could also tack on daniel's pass, or an out-n-back on 7 bridges, or buckhorn/jacks, whatever's clever

short teaser of last weekend's chunkfest

I'm out again this week. Wednesday is my parents last day here so I should probably spend it with them. Sounds like a good ride. Maybe I'll try to repeat this weekend.

You did Kokopelli 2 days in a row? Damn dude that is cool!
That is such a fun trail...

We did it only Friday of the week we were there, it was a blast, got lucky as the next day we had 2 inches of snow at the top of Kokopelli and they weren't shuttling anymore.

I'm not too keen on parking off goldcamp due to break-in's. Might have to be lower chutes.

If we meet at the chutes maybe we should ride something else. That's a bit more gravel grinding than I care to do just to ride the road back down.

The main group can meet up in the buck horn parking lot. The people want to grid up from bottom of chutes plan on meeting up 20 mins or so early and we can ride up to meet the people parking at the buckhorn lot.

I'm in. So is the consensus that we meet at the Chutes lot and ride something else, or we meet at the Buckhorn lot as originally planned?

read my mind... Bec & I are gonna park up at the buckhorn lot (and we'll leave our valuables at home )

also, those who are riding from chutes lot could ride down columbine to the connector trail that brings you back into stratton (to avoid riding gold camp back to chutes)

OK, I'll meet you guys at the Chutes lot at 5:40 and try to be ready to ride. Paul and Becca, I'm guessing that we'll be a little later than 6:00 at the Buckhorn lot.

Hmmm... No one is going to break into my lowly Civic if there is a Raptor in the parking lot. Maybe I should drive up

Just kidding, I need the exercise. See you guys up there.

I plan on leaving the truck open so at least they don't break my windows and they can see there is nothing to steal but my stinky shoes.

Chutes to Blue Columbine --> Up and over then down St. Mary's --> Down dirt road to Spring Creek --> Spring creek to Columbine --> Columbine to just before the Discovery center then quick climb up to western most reservoir --> Down Stratton trails to parking lot. My crude route drawing measures right at 13 miles.

i'm sure we'll come to a consensus tonight...idk if everyone will be down for the addition, especially after climbing up from chutes lot!

    Hey p_DuBs,

We talked about Palmer Park on Sunday, but I think that's a no-go. Do you want to ride somewhere with decomposed granite again? Maybe even a recap of the Wednesday ride?

another figure 8 would be fun, shoot me a text of when/where you're thinkin of meeting.

looks like it's going to get crappy around noon on Sunday, so we'll probably need to get out early. I bet the trails are even nicer now that we've got some moisture.

I'm having breakfast at my parent's house in the morning, but I should be able to meet about 11:00 at the Buckhorn lot if that works for you. I can't text (or read them on my phone) but you can call me to firm up plans. It's very possible that an 11:00 start time will have us riding in rain/snow, but I'd be OK with that for hero traction.

If anyone is still interested in in riding, give me a call this morning. I am probably going to ride about noon at this point. Either the canyon or maybe BF.

Yea, with 32.5mi / 5,430ft climbing... insane ride Arin I just wonder why you guys didn't dump down sesame to high dr instead of all of lower jacks to the dirt road, was adding palmer trail & section 16 a last minute addition?

this white crap from the sky really threw a wrench in my riding plans, lol

threw together an edit from the Moab trip:

We looped around to pick up shortbus at the top of the chutes, so I could selfishly have someone to ride all the way to Stratton with.
I just did some loops around the canyon area. Check strava ( sounds so lame) if you want to know the exact route.
