The Captain Registration is open!
If you're not familiar with this race, it's an enduro style race that goes down some of the best trails in Colorado Springs. Day one last year was in Cheyenne Canyon and day two was in Palmer Park.

It will be interesting when they update the course layout since their Facebook page mentioned 9 stages a few days ago.

Sounds really cool. 10-12 years ago I really wanted there to be this type of race in Palmer Park. Have fun - if I lived on the FR, I'd be there.

The course hasn't been named yet, but they still mention two shuttles on the south side plus a day in the Park. All together they mention nine courses. There is a website too in addition to Facebook.

Was interested until USAC was said
It appears that the they just copied and pasted the info from last year to this year for fee's. USAC now charges $10 for one day licenses. Last year it was $5. As soon as I saw this, I am out. I wont give USAC any of my monies for any reason. They dont support local racing, they upped fee's again this year and Steve Johnson had the gall to come to the BRAC meeting 2 years ago and tell everyone that they dont care about anybody except the Elite racers and we were just there to pay the bills. Probably is a great race but.....

^ They're showing up for me?

The Captain Registration is open!
I'm not sure I want to see the times from last year. It will just show me how slow I am this year.
-
For some strange reason they dont show up on my phone anymore, just on the computer...? Probably have to upgrade to premium Strava now??

I am more curious about how they are going to set up this race now that I've read the article that was posted on Medicine Wheel's FB page..
The article starts on page one, Trail Closures Causing Confusion, and continues on 14.

Thanks for the read.
Here's the RMFI assessment.

I think in the end you will find all the closures are tied to getting FEMA money and our local governments are using trail damage and trail closures as justification for receiving those funds. They must keep them closed for as long as possible to sell the need for federal money.
IMHO we're all perfectly capable of dismounting and walking around damaged sections of trail or road. The idea that a trail tread must be inspected and deemed perfect for our use by a government official is laughable.
It's almost as silly as the idea of "genetically pure" trout in Bear Creek, even though they have been inbred for so many generations that recessive genes surely dominate the DNA. Good? Bad? who knows. But "pure" as in heterozygous traits they surely are not.
