    C/S night ride THURSDAY 29th 6pm

This week we are riding Mount Herman on Thursday, any and all are welcome. There is talk of a bbq in the parking lot after the ride or we can head down to town and get food and drinks a Pikes Peak Brewery, group decision.

If you have never ridden the area this is what you can expect from this ride, will start out almost like a groomer trail, lots of flow and all SS worthy, as we head west into the foothill Black Pearl will give you plenty of rocks, nothing dangerous just rough. Heading down we will cross the road to Flow Dog then down 715 back into the preserve. When we hit the double track we will turn west again and head back up to the top and drop down Cool Running, all these trails are mild tech with a high level of fun, IMHO. Back at the pond we will see how much time is left and decide from there where to ride.

As for bike, I ride SS or 6" travel depending on how I feel, if we have a crowd coming from Denver I will bring the SS, no matter which bike its always a good time.

Directions: Leave I-25 at exit 161 (Hwy 105) and head west through the older section of Monument (Hwy 105 turns north just past the Interstate; keep going west on what is now 2nd Street). After you cross the railroad tracks, turn left (south) at the T-intersection onto Mitchell Ave. In .5 miles you’ll see the sign for Mt Herman Road; turn right. From this intersection the trailhead is 2.5 miles on the left, can't miss it.

We have to wait until THURSDAY???? Oh well, I'll try to stay sane long enough to make the ride.

I'd suggest NOT doing the brewery. As nice as it will be to enjoy a cold beer afterwards, I want to ride in the dark and I don't want to hurry--we can drink in the parking lot. In fact, I'd even advocate we grill some food in the parking lot BEFORE the ride so we can ride in the dark more, but that's coming from someone who misses night riding already. I'm up for riding in the daylight though if that's what everyone else wants to do.

BTW, what is the meeting time? 6:00?

I already got this weeks whole day changed so Im game with whatever.

Since im in princess mode my vote would be not to eat before ride so I wont throw up, but drinking in the parking lot with maybe a small BBQ or something simple after ride will save some money.

I'll bring my Colman stove. It's half grill (about 12x8") so I can grill about 6 brats at once. Does anyone else have a grill--we'll all starve if we have to wait for food cooked on my grill. For obvious reasons, don't anyone bring a charcoal grill!!!

I also have some of the last Winter Warlocks of the season.

I would say to bring them. We usually ride 2-ish hours or so which would put us in darkness by the end of the ride--especially if there are beer stops on the trail. It looks like Jason is not planning on riding at night so there will be people peeling off if you don't want to ride in the dark (but what kind of fun is that???).

How many of the TITS crew is coming down for this ride? If it's a Denverfest, I'll bring the SS. Otherwise, I've got some blingtastic new parts on the Shinobi that I'm looking to try out so I will bring it.

Crap, I was going to grab a couple of chairs and I forgot. I brought homeade chipotle potato salad and beer with a few small plates and some pink and blue silverware (left over from the baby shower). I have my grill, and I'm going to grab some extra propane over lunch.

I have a flat front tire again so I must not have got all the cactus splines out after riding Back Bacon last week....

    Hello Gang,

Sounds like its going to be a good ride, does any one has an extra set of lights I can borrow?

Was going to pick up a set of lights from Jay but got laid off before I was able to gather the funds.

Am riding my dinasour FS, not ready for the SS, still recovering from a miniscus repair.

Hey man, where are you in Denver? What time can you leave? Etc.? I'll be leaving from downtown Denver, not Golden, but if you're semi-convenient to scoop up we can make it happen. I just can't drive all the way west to then go south or I'll never make it, y'know. Eff it, I'll send you a PM with my cell, gimme a call sometime today.

    FT, when you leaving downtown?

I'm thinkin' bout it, don't have the bike with me, it's over at the Wadsworth exit off 6th.

    Anyone else feel like carpoolin'?
The correct number of bikes one should own is N+1, where N is the number of bikes currently owned.

Just got off the phone with proslackass, we're meeting somewhere near/abouts C-470 and I-25. I'm leaving my office 'tween 4:30-4:45, which should put me meeting him right around 5 or a few minutes after depending on traffics.

    Whats with the weather

Just walked outside and notice the humidity is up, looking west at the mountains we have thunder clouds trying to appear, is this August.

Only thing that will make this ride even better is a good 1/2 hour rain, not thinking that is an option for today though.

slow, bringing a couple extra hamburger patties so your good.

Great ride, thanks for all that brought grub to eat. I had a great time even though riding while sick sucks, I'm sure I will pay for today.

    Great ride guys!
The head count was 18 or 19, this is definitely the biggest night ride that I've been in. I also want to say thanks to the peeps that brought the food, it was all delish.
Maybe next time we all get together we can head up north, maybe do BC or something. It would be fun to do an overnighter.

Thankses so muchos to ya'll for hosting, leading, cooking, riding, waiting, smiling, and drinking. That was a proper night ride, for sure, and WAY fun. Props to my boy Velocity VonKittenLubber for bringing me a thoob, and extry thankses to Shinobi-Wan Kenobi for tie-dyed duct tape... blingtastic indeed.

The older I get, the faster I was.
