    Bush to give park officials power to lift biking rules

    Anyone hear anything further on this?

    http://www.denverpost.com/nationworld/ci_10720558

    I saw the article in the Denver Post just before I left for vacation in mid October. Sounds pretty cool. Along with the Forest Service now removing us from the connection to motorized vehicle ("Mountain Bikes Should Be Regulated with Other Non-Motorized Trails Users") things are getting interesting.

    Here is some other fodder on this:

    Same article with some addtions->

    That might be one of the only things George Bush has done that I agree with. How the heck does a bike wreck the trail more than a horse? Speaking of horse, anyone want to beat a dead one

    Our Dear Leader Chairman MaoBama to reverse the executive order as soon as he takes office.

    Off to a good start, though I don't mind lifting the Stem Cell research ban (see, I'm not all to the right).

    If it really went through, would you go out and ride the trails?

    Does that mean we are back to Clinton policies...reversing the ones that Bush reversed when he took office?

    McCain was planning to ban mountain biking in all national forests if he became president.

    Touche.

    I'd be curious to see what Our Dear Leader Chairman MaoBama will have under his desk.

    McCain wasn't my choice to lead the slightly right of center ticket. He just ended up being the only choice in the end. I guess we all have to weigh the "evils".

    John Mccain-
    That's right you pieces of $hit you aren't allowed to enjoy your own DIRT and ROCKS unless I say you can !! Now go die in Iraq, god damnit
    These mountains and rivers belong to us as living beings on the planet.... not to any 'government organizations" that may have created themselves and set rules up on our behalf. If he was elected and that went through, I certainly would not be following it. If i want to enjoy life in the mountains (or anywhere else for that matter) I am entitled to do so by the earth that created me, and no one can set boundaries on that, because we did not create it. If i sound a little hippie-fied its because I am. Now I'm going to a mountain peak to consume a certain green plant which was also provided by the earth.

    I doubt many judges would agree.
