Buffalo Creek Snow Ride (with pics)

Some little birds told me that some parts of BC were ridable and wonderful. That was enough to get FrontRanger and I out for a little investigation spin. Temps at start of ride this morning were around 30, with an inch or two (or 5 in spots) of new snow on the ground... Perfect!

    First (bike) Tracks!

BC was mostly great. Just a few big sections of ice. Hope you all got out there and had a blast - like we did!

LOL. Glad to read (on your blog) that you are healing up and back on the bike, Joel! We definitely have to get out for a ride soon! You'll have to keep in touch and let me know when works for you!

I loves me that Sheep also!

Yep, I'm back on the bike at least, but I'm a long way away from being in shape. Still can't stand and crank yet, but spinning in the saddle feels pretty good.

I'm guessing another couple weeks and I'll feel like tackling an actual trail. And since my ski season is ruined (pass refund), I'll be poised to make some Fruita runs in late March/early April this year.

What the heck happened to Ed's face? It's like... furry.
A trail thatís too difficult wouldnít exist because itíd never be used. But, trails can exist thatíre too difficult for you.

    yes!yes!yes!

Yes, the trails were puuuuurrrrrrfect in all those special ways. Some super light new snowy sections, ready and waiting for fresh tracks, but mostly dirt/decomposed granite all sticky and packed in that speical winter way. Brilliant day for a ride. I'm so glad Ed forced me out of the house!

JSD and FrntRngr: It was great seeing you at the start --- JSD -- how many times do we see you there? We really should plan these things, you know ;-)

Anyway, here's the pix I took!

    EdE, in fine, furry fashion!

Where JSD and FR went straight, we went Left to get some of our own freshies!

Ijust love mtb prints/tracks. "Wild Mountain bike Tracks" I call them... or sometimes "CalTracks" (ahem, CalGone).

    Kissing Ponies

And last but not least, JSD and FR:

And today, well ... today is a different story. It took me an hour to shovel the walk way, steps and driveway. Good workout tho ;-)
