Anybody ride bikes around here anymore?

Photography, Guitars and Peek-a Boo are all fine and dandy but come on man this is a mountain bike site! I have to hang out in the California and Arizona forums just so I can read about people riding bikes.

    Here is some biking content

I headed west for the weekend to Grand Junction. My first time out there. Pedaled up and rode the ribbon to free lunch to lemon squeezer and moto. Quite the ride. Palisade rim trail the next day, which I actually really enjoyed. More so than the ribbon. I'm glad I did it but it's just a few features and a ton of elevation loss at high speed. Maybe if I shuttled it I wouldn't feel this way lol.

I also come here pretty frequently and see nothing. Let's turn it around. Want pics from the GJ trip?

I'll hit 1000 miles (mostly dirt) for the year later this week. It has been good. That reminds me, I should go for a ride...

    ...and only rap caucasionally.

Just back from Moab a few days ago... rode White Rim, Porcupine, Klondike. Weather came back in, so I guess it's back to skiing or something. I've got some high country plans and ideas for this summer, I'm sure I'll post in the appropriate thread when that happens. Until then...

I spent a good chunk of last winter color matching the new build, so of course I've been out riding it. What good is having a pretty bike if you can't show it to everyone?

Yeah, feeling a bit bionic after knee/back/heart surgery and recovery. Not to mention, completely giving up alcohol.

BTW, for anyone that still rides bikes, Limbaugh Canyon is good to go (per my lunch ride today)...

OP - still riding at least once a week here in C Springs area over the cold months. 2 or 3 of us get out pretty much year 'round and more often as weather and our schedules line up. Doing a 3 day/two-nighter bike pack in mid June.

Yeah, I used to ride with the Inflexables (Kristian, Joe, etc) once in a while. Great times but Iíve always been a bit of a loner and kids have made group riding even harder to coordinate. Of the 98 rides Iíve done this year, about 90 have been solo...

I've been taking advantage of the snow to get a ton of skiing in. I still do a lap of Apex/Enchanted Forest in Golden at least a couple times a week whenever conditions permit.

I've been riding some Colorado and some Utah the past six weeks. Just returned from Moab last night. I was hoping to get 1000 miles and 100,000' vertical by May 1, but 6" of sloppy wet snow last night in FoCo is going to keep me a bit shy of my goal.

Does this count? Some trail rides from this year. Heading to Moab in the next couple weeks.

Heading there this weekend. Yeah, the Ribbon is best shuttled. Going to try to squeeze in Palisade Rim. Never ridden it, but keep hearing good things.

Thanks for starting this thread, scar! Agreed we should get some more riding stoke on the Front Range forum. Been sick for the last two weeks and finally feel good enough to get back on the bikes.

Still ride bikes, but this year had a rough start. Broke a couple ribs snowboarding over New Year's in Canada, so was laid up for quite a while. Getting back on it from 2 months off sucks!!! But I'm healthy now and ready to shred on the new CC whip and Miss Smashy McSmashwagon!

Sweet! On coming back after surgery and that nice jump. Vid's like this remind me how different people's concepts of mountain biking are...I basically never jump. I've done something that big <5 times in 30 years of riding. haha

Okay, I'm thinking 2 years ago or more maybe Ö. joined a few rides at Palmer, Ute and Red Rock. Shortbus - Kristian, Paul or Pdub? one or two other "brian's" besides me, a cookout and beers near ute at someone's house.

I'd have been the guy (older age range of the group) sucking wind. Bright blue Kona h/t at the time and a $30 headlamp. The one your spotter was waiting for at just about every corner on most of the rides.

Nice group, always helpful and welcoming.

Yes sir. (Insert cliche about bike having both amazing climbing and descending capabilities here.) At 5í10Ē had the S2 for a while but just swapped to the S3 to go all in on the L.L.S. geo. Very stoked, great bike for the front range trails.

    The ribbon is awesome.

Got out on the Floyd Hill trails this weekend, they aren't much yet but they're incredibly promising. Probably some of the best trail building I've seen recently, outside of the new goods on Dakota. Faintly reminiscent of BC flow.

Wife hasn't been feeling dirt rides lately, so I did about 30 miles on the skinny tires with her yesterday. With business being super strong right now, I am 0 for May on riding in the dirt. Looks like this week's weather may not do anything to help that.

Most, if not all, trails closed while the snow melt creates mud. Last week our area got anywhere from a dusting to 13" of new white stuff.
Hopefully it'll be a dry Spring and riding will happen again soon.

Buffalo Creek about a week and a half ago. Trails were still a bit tacky and the temperature was perfect.

Long winter this year... seems once I start getting warmed up... i have to take a week off for snow. Do Ft collins and CS generally get less snow than jeffco and boulder? Sittin at about 250 dirt/snow miles this year.

    No.

You guys waffled the easiest name-that-trail post in history, so I've given up on you and moved back to Tahoe.

Many of my rides happen with no photos, but this morning's ride was not one of those rides.

I guess I'm different than a lot of riders. I've carried a camera from Day One and have always taken ride pics. I also had fun riding. There's nowhere that says that anyone HAS to take pics when they ride, it just sort of happened naturally for me. Maybe I stop more than everyone else

I just moved to Monument from Western NY. The truck carrying my bikes should be here tomorrow. If anyone in the area is up for bringing me along for a ride, and showing me some of the trails and the best routes to connect them together, let me know.

I ride a ton in the area and we might be able to hook up sometime. Now isn't good as I'm scrambling to get my act together before traveling for a bit.

Anyway...go over to the trailhead at Nursery Rd and Mt Herman Rd. Wander around. Piles of riding.
