2011 Beerd Belly Ride!!! JAN 1

Start growin em! beeerds or bellys or both! i have coincidentally started both

Plan is to pedal Elk Meadow/ Bergan Peak- hopefully a snow ride! Gets tromped pretty well by snowshoers so it will be awesome! IF for some reason it is deemed unrideable other plans will be made.

    Two things guaranteed:

I will have a flask of strannys and possibly a backup

We will ride bikes and have fun

We will kick off the new year just right!

a little stoke if you need it! (minus the beerds)
    The usual suspects!

dont forget the camera adds ten pounds

    some tips:

grow beerd, drink beer, grow belly, show up ride bikes!! posting this early in hopes of some good beerd creations, male female its all good!! more the merrier.

may be a few of us headed out to preride day before when pbr will add yet another year-

time yet TBD- will prob. meet up at the park n ride in bergen park.

dam. Just shaved a two week stubble off me ol'mug this morning. The belly, well, I haven't figured out a quick way to shave that off. So we may show up, my belly and I.

Well, daddies getting new cranks for Xmas so I'll be there. Thankfully I've got no belly but I'll bring my 'stache and a flask.

I have no idea what are New Year's plans are but I'll try to get me and my g/f there for this ride. Sadly we'll both be 0 for 2. I still can't even grow a real mustache, so a beard is impossible, and I'd rather not see my g/f with one. We're both doing a 140km race on 8 Jan, so we're hoping to keep belly growth to a minimum. All that said; I hope to be there pedaling with all of you (I'll bring my SS).

Look at the jugs on that bike

    Do those things help?

I keep saying I'm going to venture south one of these days and join one of your rides. Maybe I'll try for this one (not sure what the heck we're doing that weekend yet).

I think for toomanytoyz that constitutes a smile - so he actually is happy there.

I'm on call, so will need to stay somewhere in cell phone range. (I suppose it may work most of the ride? - can anyone confirm this with Verizon service?)
Otherwise, I will probably plan to hit up some fellow slowbies and ride Marshall Mesa, STM, NTM, or something.

Unfortunatley those jugs did not deploy as airbags. design flaw im guessing.....Lubes will not be riding in the Beerd belly ride this year as his collarbone is busted up. Heal up Lubes!

anybody got some beerd stoke? belly stoke to report on...

    beerd

Not sure if I'll be able to get away with another week of not shaving for work. Here's the shaggy mug so far. The belly is really coming along too. Hoping to add at least 5lbs this weekend. And staying away from any riding.

EDIT: Out due to razor burn

Well it looks like it may be a white beerd ride! although the dry trails have been nice well...they are dry. Hiked/ ran dedisse - 3 sis yesterday and yep bone dry. So my theory is it snows like crazy on thurs. and the snowshoers get out on New Years eve and pack it all down for us! I'll be at a Pond Hockey tournament all day on fri. at Evergreen Lake so i can get by and check it out in the afternoon!! Was great last year nice and hardpacked!

Still planning on the ride and looking at maybe a 10:00 am start time unless anybody wants to start a bit earlier???

    who's in??

My shoulder's still banged up pretty good from that BC ride, but I've got full range of motion back. If I can support the right side of my torso for a couple of hours I'll be there. I've definitely got the beard and the belly.

More prizes made by your daughters for stuff like "Most Epic Beard" and "Best Mechanical Solved Using a Beard"?

I'm a no go, bummer for me. I can't convince my g/f to make the drive up to ride there; she wants to wait until its above 20F to ride around C/S. Have a good pedal, hopefully we'll get up north for another tits ride.

Well evergreen didnt get a ton of snow so i think elk meadow should be good to ride. never drove by there today but at the lake and around it looked like about 3-4 so hopefully it got packed down a bit and will be rideable!

Will post a final time and meeting place a little later tonight but still plannin it!

A Belgian -2 and a 1554 are in the pack. To bury them in snow for the return to the car or keep em in the pack for some high point partaking is the question.....

great pics! Looks lie a lot of fun really. Sorry to miss it - had a chance for a free overnighter in breck. We only lasted a handful of runs in negative temps before retreating to the lounge.

We had fun up north, too, but did not have the blue skies you enjoyed. Happy New Year!
