    1/8/12 springs night ride.

Who is in? Also ideas on where. I was thinking maybe CMSP but not sure of the condition. Thoughts?

We were talking about Stratton yesterday since it was in such good shape. Potentially, we would do a few laps and hit Chutes, Stroodle, and whatever else. I think CMSP would be cool too though. What does everyone else say?

If we ride up Chutes to GC, hit Highdrive down Jacks, back down to Stroodle with some extra laps in the preserve this would be in our window and give us a chance to ride some fast fun flow, yesterday was a blast.

For that amount of road, I'd say we either do Buckhorn/Jacks, or just stay below Gold Camp and stay in the preserve.

I will try to speed it up so you won't have to wait too long.
Maybe building a camp fire with smores will help pass the time till I can catch up.

I am just speaking for me but I think if it just the 4 of us going up buckhorn I'm willing to push the start time to 630 so that we can all start and end up in the same place.

What fun is that???? I'm willing to push the start time until 6:15--that way we get a head start against Paul.

Then it becomes Paul Chen AND Keith against the rest of us. Paul has to catch us, and Keith can't lose us. If either of them succeeds, I'll give them a beer.

Why would you throw up now? You haven't even seen his big boy pants yet...

    Prepare to throw up now.

BTW, with all of this trash talking, it might not be clear that this is a no-one gets left behind ride and anyone is welcome (unless they show up in pants like the picture above). We'll meet at the Chutes lot off of Ridgeway and Cheyenne at 6:15, and we're planning on climbing to the "T" of Buckhorn where you pick up Cap'n Jacks and then riding back down to the cars. Trail riding lights are required, and beer is encouraged.

Just finished a fun ride up there. Parked at the upper GC lot, rode up Buckhorn (man that is a lot of work with winter time legs), down all of CJacks, over and down on Spring Creek, turned right and climbed Columbine to the truck. There was maybe 1/2 to 1.5 inches of freshies. I can't believe how nice the trails were, very little snow, gravel firm and slightly frozen (it was 15 out). Still got a lot of snow at my house! Plus the moto haven't chopped it up so bad in the winter.

    Enjoy!

Alright then I'm starting at 5:30 so you guys don't have to wait for me to make it up. And if someone happens to catch me I'm pushing them off the trail. Or a stick to the spokes your choice.

Maybe another chaser. As of now I only have one client, so I MIGHT be able to get home and on the bike by 6:45 and I MIGHT get She-Ra's approval. That said don't wait on me, no idea which bike I'll be on (I'm working on about 4 of them now for 24 HITOP), but with any luck I'll get out there and catch you guys.

Despite a brief second thought, I grabbed the Unit to come out and play today. It's going to kick my butt on Buckhorn, but it will be worth a few butt kickings to rebuild some fitness. Are you going single today?

Yeah, you better bring your parka because it's going to be awfully cold at the top waiting for us. I expect a smore once I get to the top since you'll have plenty of time to get the fire going .

I'm in to play chaser. Hoping to be home and on the bike by 6:30, 6:45 at the latest. Hope to see you guys on Buckhorn. Oh, is this a beverage at the top ride or are we being smart and doing that at the end (not b/c of making the descent any more interesting, just thinking temps up top standing around). If you know where I live and want safer parking feel free to park over here (you can block in any of the cars except the big white one). If munchkins are asleep, we're quiet, and She-Ra approves we may even be allowed in the house after our ride; where there is heat and everything!

I'm kinda thinking this is a beer at the car, a shot at the bottom of Buckhorn, a beer at the top of Buckhorn and another beer at the car type of ride...carry a couple extra layers so we don't have to watch you suffer through your Richard Simmons fitness routine at the top .

I'm shooting to be on the bike at 6:15 since I think Paul will beat me on the climb by 15 minutes (or more) and he should get there about 6:30. Kip, you should be able to leave your house at 6:45 and catch us at the top of Buckhorn.

Keith and Kent dropped everyone. Paul, Loudpaulz and Kip all caught us in the Buckhorn parking lot. P_dubs, Becca, Joe, Todd and myself did High Drive instead of Buckhorn, and no smore or sticks to the spokes were experienced. The trail was in uber-good shape and we rallied on the downhill--one of the fastest times down Jacks that I've ever done (day or night).

I'd say that good times were had by all!

This is the truth. Last night the trail was prime, very little snow. Was almost like spring time riding! Can't remember the last time I've had traction like that.
Great crowd last night too! Can't wait till next week.
