    Steel framed bikes

I always read about the "give" in steel frames that makes them more comfortable to ride. When one's weight gets too heavy is there a possibility that you could actually push through this plushness and bend the frame? Looking at some Fat Bikes and was wondering if I should write off the Surly bikes. Thanks.

I would think you would bend a rim before you bent your frame. I am 280 riding a Dragon, no problems so far.

Steel is way more rigid than aluminum and quite a bit more forgiving. I ride all steel bikes exept my Hydroformed Mountain Cycle Rumble. A good Cromo frame will last a lifetime.
