    Yakima Q Tower question

I have a car (2012 Hyundai Veloster) that is proving difficult to carry bikes and kayaks on. Yakima makes a Q Tower base rack solution for it, but it won't allow operation of the sunroof when installed. I know that the Q Towers attach easily with the flip of a lever. So my questions are:

How much of a pain would it be to put on the rack each time I wanted to carry bikes or boats, and take it off afterwards?
Does anyone out there do this on a regular basis?

Taking it off when not in use would offer advantages over just leaving it on, namely better gas mileage, less noise, and being able to use the sunroof, but if its a huge pain (eg. if I'd have to adjust the levers each time I did this) then it may not be worth it. Any opinions appreciated.

honestly, i think taking the rack on and off each time you use it is a huge pain in the ass, and i've been installing q towers for 10+ years.
i have to read the notes about the q towers, because i don't recall a fit that won't allow the sunroof to operate. rather, i think some notes say that the sunroof won't open with certain accessories attached...and that would likely mean cargo boxes or ski racks with a lot of hardware mounted underneath the crossbar.
i would check that again...and i will attempt to remember tomorrow when i'm in to follow up with that.
