Yakima King Cobra Slipping on front tire

Anybody have experience with this solutions?

My rack will slip on the front tire when I drive on bumpy roads so instead of being set on 26" wheels it expends and the bike gets loose. It is very annoying. It does not always happen, but is obviously sketchy when it does. And the red knob is tight. Maybe it is too tight?

I thought of just wrapping the legs with electrical tape above the 26" indention, but I dislike the idea if there is a better option.

I use zip ties to go around the red lever, it seems to keep it place well, and I can slide the zip ties off to adjust the wheel holder then I slide them back on
