    Wheelfork for 29er Wheel

I just got my first 29er and the wheels do not fit on my old Yakima wheelforks(like 10yrs old). Does anyone know if 29er wheels will fit on the newer Yakima wheelforks?

Maybe this will be a good excuse to buy some High Rollers.

the yakima 2067 is the new(er) wheelfork from yakima and will not work well with a 29'er wheel because it has an antispin device located near the bottom. it's just a piece of flexible plastic that keeps the wheel from spinning while in transit.
if you don't install the anti-spin device, there is 15" of clearance between the tabs and the bottom of the fork, which would accomodate a 29'er wheel pretty nicely.
i would use some strap of some sort to keep your wheel from spinning in transit.

the thule 593 wheel on uses a channel at the top that the skewer drops into and when it bottoms out, the tire rests against the bottom of the wheel fork, creating a "built-in" anti spin. this rack has 14.75" of clearance from the top of the channel to the bottom of the anti spin.

    hope that helps.
