Two bikes in an economy rental car?

Do the back seats fold down in most economy rental cars? Anyone try squeezing two bikes in the back of one?

If you're flying in somewhere prepare for the worst case - they don't. Pack a plastic painters drop cloth in your luggage and have it ready to cover the back seats. At the end of the trip bundle it up and throw it away - no damage or dirt to the rental car.

Yeah, if they don't fit in trunk, I'm guessing we can get them in the back seat. I just fit my rip 9 (with the wheels off) in the back of my civic with enough room for another. I figure I can use rags and my tent tarp so the seats don't get stained.

    This is solid advise.
