    Travel with a frame aboard

excuse me if maybe here is not the place to post.

I wonder if anyone has traveled a bike frame (disarmed) or carried as hand luggage on a plane without baggage.

Have you had problems with transportit in this way?

    thanks!

You want to bring a bike frame onto the plane as your carry on luggage? I don't think that would go to smoothly. For one, a standard bicycle frame would not fit in an overhead bin. It would also be too long (most carry-ons are limited to 22 or 24 inches maximum length, with 50 inch maximum total volume... LxWxH)

I think about this because my fear is to stole the luggage by the flight company!

If I really had to take a frame with me and wanted to ensure its safety, I would probably just ship my destination (if it's feasible) and put shipping insurance on it. In no way would I ever trust my frame to airport personnel. Plus, the cost of shipping couldn't be much worse than the additional luggage charges..
