    Transporting Thru Axle

In the back of my nissan xterra I was able to take off the front wheel of my XC bike and had a QR skewer mount that worked perfect. With my new 6" travel bike and thru axle I don't have room for a mount since I have a shelf up by the headliner. Is it a problem resting the bottom of the fork with mostly the brake caliper taking the weight of having the bike sitting back there (the shelf kind of pushes the top of the handlebars and wedges the bike in place)? Thank you!

Usually I pipe in on regarding thru axle forks and the mounting of them onto a rack( I designed and hold the patent on the Fork Up, that is used by Hurricane, Yakima and Thule)
Your fork should be fine unless it's resting on a preload adjusting knob or a air valve.
You can always use a Fork Up, rotated and mounted into a fork mount to hold your bike more securely.
