    Thule T2 question

Anyone using a T2 two bike rack on a civic or anything similar (1.25" class 1 hitch)? I'm wondering if the tongue weight would exceed the capacity of my hitch/car. I recently saw a late-model civic with this rack.

Have on on a Mazda 3 if that helps. Yep it is the 1.25" version.

I run a T2 / 1.25" on a saab 9-3 aero. Tongue weight limits are on the conservative side in the light weight, little car area as most easily handle upwards of 500lbs tongue weight (from my experience of course, I am sure there are exceptions)

I installed a class II hitch on my Honda Fit (same size or smaller than the civic) and use a 1.25" Thule T2 without problems. I did have my installer add an extra bolt securing the hitch to the frame of the car for safety. I also had him add a custom vertical extension to the rack to make sure it won't scrape driveways and dips in the road. See the Honda Fit thread for pics.
