Swagman Skyline Roof Rack Backordered 'til 3/16?

I ordered in June and it keeps getting pushed back. Are these things really not available?

It's for my over-the-bed rack on my truck. Wheels-on, fatbike compatible.
    ...if you can get it.

Have you looked at the Thule Sidearm 594XT? Same basic design.

Thanks, but that only fits up to 2.6" tires. I need room for 4.8" tires.

Where are you ordering from? Have you checked other retailers?

Yeah, the price went up everywhere else by about $80. That's why I'm wondering if maybe this vendor is just leading me on so that I will cancel my order. There's no way I'm paying ~$260 for one.

eTrailer is showing $180, but at $260, I'd look at a BrassKnuckles (+ fat kit) or 1up (+ fat kit) instead.

    eTrailer is backordered 'til March.

In the mean time, I've got my hillbilly rack made out of 1/2 of a vinyl fence post.

Actually, if I could just order the hook part of any of those racks and install it on my tray, this rack would be better than any of them.

    Hi

I was curious to know if you had received your Swagman Skyline rack ?
If so, how do you like it?

    Thanks
    Vince

I'd like to say that I've received it and it's working great but I STILL haven't received it!
Fortunately the home made rack is doing a nice job even if it is a little hillbilly.
This has been going on for a year now. They are available only in Canada for some reason.

We appreciate your patience as we wait to receive the Swagman Skyline Wheel-Mount Roof Bike Rack you ordered from the manufacturer. We still expect to have it on hand to ship by early June. As a reminder, you are not charged until the initial order ships. I will personally be watching your order until the part arrives and notify you if anything changes.

Please email or call 1-800-298-8924 ext. 371 if you have any other questions.

    Thank you,

    Sad to hear that

In the meantime I wrote to Swagman via their Facebook page and here is what they replied:

We said it would fit Fat Bikes but Fat Bike designs changed and wouldn't fit. So we have to do a redesign just before we were about to hit production.
So there you have it. Not until August 2016. Wouldn't be surprised if this slides even further...

This has finally started to move! I had been in contact with Swagman and they apologized and explained the delay and said I would be near the top of the list if I wanted one of the first, new, re-designed "Race Ready" racks that comes out this month to replace the Skyline rack design. Fits 20x1-3/8 up to 26x5 or 29x3.
I got 2 of them on the way. I will get some installed pix next weekend.
I'm thinking of investing in some security hardware. I never had a rack this nice.
