Subaru / Thule not playing together nice.

I have a 2003 Outback wagon with a Hidden Hitch class 2 hitch. My new Thule T2 rack will not fit because of insufficient clearance between the bumper and the rack. I can only get the rack about two inches into the receiver before it hits the bumper. Has anyone run into this or have any suggestions? I'm thinking that the only solution is to install a different hitch, one that extends toward the rear of vehicle a few inches more.
My Saris Cycle-On works great except I can't open the rear door with bikes on it. It does not have the swing down feature that the Thule does and that was the reason for switching to the Thule.

You need a receiver hitch extension.

Goto Autozone or other places and see if you can find one

    Thanks for the tip...

I'm looking into it. I have a 1 1/4 receiver and so far all I find is a 10" extension. That will put my rack alot further back than I'd like. I only need about 3 inches so I may end up having someone weld up a short extension for me.
