    stinky car

alright my car isn't stinky yet but do you guys do anything to your cars like brining a towel or something so when you drive home after your nice sweaty mountain bike ride your car won't smell like a gym locker room.

I change into a different shirt and I sit on a towel. I also leave the windows open when I park it in the garage to air it out.

I change my shirt, put my shoes in the back (change into sandals after), and sometimes sit on another shirt or towel on really sweaty rides.

Also... this may be obvious... but don't leave anything that you sweat in in your car! I don't even leave my gloves or helmets in the car.

I do the same with snowboarding stuff in the winter time.

I sweat quite a bit and just clean my seats with Tuff Stuff every couple months. My car doesn't smell at all. Been doing this for 2 years with no problem. My friends all do the same thing, no smells for them as well. I figure worst case, I'll use a steam cleaner for my seats, but I don't see it ever getting that bad.

Usually throw a towel down or bring a change of clothes.

I always have a towel with me , I always change my shirt at the minimum and I always have a change of shoes and socks too. Most of the trails I ride are only a short drive away so I don't have to marinate in my filth for to long.

When I get home I take all the damp stuff , helmet , gloves and shoes out of the car and let it air out for the rest of the day. Everything else goes in the machine straightway or by the end of the day at the latest.

    Then I hit the tub.

... is one long sentence! Howzabout some punctuation, man?

Yeah, junky towel and a jug of water to wipe the layer of crud off. A fresh tee shirt does wonders.

Another good idea is to have some sort of container to throw your sweaty crap into after the ride. Throwing that crap on the floor of your trunk is a surefire way to get the funk.

I picked up a plastic storage thing at Ikea for $2. Keeps my sweaty/muddy/stinky clothes and shoes off of my carpet.

All my buddys carry the storage bins in their cars. They throw all their dirty stuff in them after they ride.

Find one in every car. You'll see.
