Pruchasing first bike rack need help/opinion

So I have a 2011 jeep grand Cherokee with a 2 inch hitch on it. I am going to get a my first bike rack for the vehicle.

I have a Trek top fuel 9.9ssl. Its a carbon fiber frame and xtr and sram X components.

Anyway I am thinking of going with either of these.

Thule Helium 971XT which carries 3 bikes

    or

Thule T2 916XT which holds 2 bikes and then if I needed to add more bikes purchase the add on which holds 2 more.

The only concern I have with a carbon fiber frame do I have to worry about hanging it? which would be the better option to go with?

    Thanks for the help!

Go down this forum and read the 1Up USA thread. By far the best hitch rack on the market.

Those are really nice however I would need at least two and $600 is way too much for me!

both racks you mentioned are good racks. personally, i am becoming a little bit partial to the yakima highlite over the thule helium, because for no other reason it holds the bikes a little bit higher up. like the helium, it only comes in either a 2 or 3 bike version.
i don't think there is anything wrong hanging your carbon frame, although you would want to be careful when strapping over your cables that they don't scratch your frame.
the t2 is a great rack - easy to use, and rock solid. yakima holdup is also a great rack, and currently qualifies for an additonal rebate from yakima, so that should also be on your short list.
platform racks are easy to use, super stable and definitely bike-care-friendly.

I would go for a platform style rack if possible.
