    oem VW rack with thule fairing?????

    has anyone put these two together ???

    oem VW rack (07) and a THule Fairing????

    purchased and found out later there is a big difference bwt raipid aero bars and vw rack....

    i thought the fairing went on with the "T' bolts but it doesnt.... thanks in adavacne

    was the thule fairing that you bought the XT fairing...872xt, 871xt, etc?

    i actually found some links with people that drilled holes in their oem racks to make it fit....

    any better solution come out yet?

    i couldn't help without getting a good look at the oem vw rack...i always thought they had a channel on the top, like the thule aero bars. the thule 87*xt racks were made to accomodate.
    if you want to post a pic of the crossbar, i'll try and help.

    I didn't have to drill any holes in the rack. It mounted right up without any issues. You have to use the mounts for Thule's "rapid aero mount bars"...they should be included with your fairing.



    I have since taken the fairing off the car. Made zero difference with wind noise and even with the pads it still scratched up the clearcoat a bit.
