    My Matrix

I've had my Matrix 6.5 years now and am still impressed. It swallows my Turner Highline w/ 180mm Totem without wheel removal, carries 2 bikes with ease, and has even carried 3 bikes and riders in a pinch. The back seat is roomy enough for my 6'1" son. This weekend I carried 5 tall dining room chairs. That's pretty good, but what's great is the milage. Here is the calculation from my last tank of gas. It's a mix of city and highway, about 50/50.

    Fuel Economy

    6.21 litres per 100 km

    37.85 miles per US gallon

    45.46 miles per Imperial gallon

I have a standard transmission and try and take it easy accelerating and braking. I think it does pretty well. Also it has been reliable as a hammer for 165,000 km, over 100,000 miles. No problems!

........... I've been very happy with mine. I'm getting 28mpg around town with a mix of hwy/city driving. I think if I were to do the bike hauling option again I would go with the hitch instead of the roof rack..but it's all good
