My bike hauler - Datsun 510

Here's a pic of my two favorite possessions.

I installed a true 'hidden hitch' for this toy. I shortened an old Jeep Patriot 2" hitch to fit in the trunk. Two 'L' brackets run perpendicular off the main bar to align on top of the frame rails. Two 8" long 'U' brackets cup the underside of the frame rails. 4 bolts connect it through the trunk and frame rail.

Due to the receiver coming out of the trunk and being quite a bit higher than the typical location under a bumper, I had to modify the my Swagman bike rack to drop about 7". I completed the project with a swinging rear licence plate frame.

    • 14x7 0ET Watanabe rims, 196/60 R14 Azenis
    • 280zx front struts and full disc brake system including the MC.
    • Subaru R160 clutch LSD
    • Tokico Illumina struts and lowered/stiffer springs

That's awesome! I really wanted a 510 when I was in high school, but was never able to find the right one.

Awesome, I had a 240 and my buds all drove 510's or pickups in the early 90's. Love it, keep it alive like others said!
