Mounting my bike to my truck bed cover

I'm looking at trying to transport my bike while not having to remove my bed cover on my truck since it's such a pain to completely remove. I was thinking about just mounting my fork mount directly to my bed cover but don't know if that's the best way to go.

    My bed cover:

    My fork mount:

Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks.

After you mount the fork you'll have to mount the rear to hold it from moving and damaging that cover, I would think about a hitch mount or a trailer, a enclosed trailer would provide thieft protection and storage, a pull behind would work too but you would have to keep your eye on it until you put it in the garage, $159. with a $20 Harbor Freight discount from the web, $20 for wood. I moved the middle brace 10 inches forward to lengthen the tongue to cut out the sway, I took one leaf from the 2 leaf spring to soften the ride, put an old fork upside down to hold the front wheel. The trailer can hold alot of bikes, its 40x48 inches. Since this pic I've put a tire hold down in the rear.

A good hitch mounted rack IMHO.

    Comdonite,

Depending on how your bed cover mounts to your trucks bed rails you may be able to install a set of these rain gutter brackets that allow a rack system to be installed above your bed cover.

I bought a set last fall and installed a soft bed cover over them. Itís great because I can pull the rack system off in minutes if I donít need it.

    Hereís a link.
