I've got a previous body shape 2 (2005) and have always got by folding down the back seats and removing the front wheel. For 2 bikes you mostly need to remove both wheels. I have got an STP in the back with both wheels on a couple of times but couldn't work out how last time I tried

I've got a mazda 3 with a thule roof rack attached to the fix points under the gutter strips. Works well. I would probably get a hitch-style rack next time though. Easier to load, can fit more bikes, easily removed, and doesn't screw your gas mileage.

I carry mine like that as well, but is a hassle to do it all the time. I rather have the rack.
