    Lock Options for Bikes

Like everyone else, I have lots of $$$ invested in my bikes. I'm using a hitch mount (Thule) on my truck and I use the THule lock that comes with the hitch carrier. Not exactly the most robust lock cable out there. What are you guys using as an additional lock? And size. It would need to run through wheels and frames.

I don't think you're going to get THAT great of a solution. Basically, i think you're goal is to create enough of a deterrent and enough of a hassle that the few moments your bike is out of sight are not enough to make off with your gear. I think a combination of a U-lock and thick cable are going to be best. The real trick is making sure to minimize the amount of time you're gear is out of sight (certainly something you already know, but . . . )
Alcohol may lead nowhere, but it sure is the scenic route!

    ^^^ that exactly.
Don't leave it out of sight for very long. Biggest cable lock you can find. And please don't leave it on the car overnight at a hotel. Almost guaranteed to be gone in the morning.
