    Jeep Pickup - I wish

I've been hoping for a Jeep Wrangler pickup for years (not an aftermarket conversion like American Expedition Vehicles makes), but it turns out it has been delayed AGAIN. Chrysler said they have to focus on small cars (much as I hate to admit, that makes sense) so the project has been put on the back burner.

A Wrangler pickup with a 6sp manual, small displacement diesel (diesel Wranglers get 22/32 city/highway MPG) would be a perfect rig..

Ive been scheming of a diesel jeep too... The torque and fuel economy would be wonderful!

I doubt there is much market for a jeep truck anymore, I myself would rather have an suv (cherokee) then a truck for my lifestyle. But the brutes (AEV) are awesome looking too!

I honestly don't care who makes it, but a small 6cyl diesel pickup with that kind of economy would be on the top of my list.

I don't think I'd buy a 1st model year vehicle unless it was something brought here from overseas, but I'd buy one pretty quick.

Suck you can't get a diesel in anything under a 3/4 ton pickup. I would love something Nissan Frontier sized in diesel that could tow 6 to 7k pounds.

I agree, don't know how much of a market there is. It seems like a lot of people really want to see it happen, but who knows how many will actually go buy one (especially with the price premium diesels usually carry).

It seems like acceptance of small displacement diesels in the US is growing.. the TDI engines have been pretty popular. Hopefully some small diesels in trucks will catch on soon. They seem to have in most countries overseas.

    Here's Jeep's J-8 (for military use)

    Jeep's aftermarket Mopar kit

AEV's aftermarket 'Brute' kit (My personal favorite)

Jeep's Gladiator concept. The current JK took a lot of design cues from this, but they left out the whole pickup thing..
