ISO 2" receiver for KIA Soul (that doesn't cost $300)

I've got a Kuat Sherpa 2.0 that I'd love to hook up to my 2014 KIA Soul, but there appears to be a shortage of compatible 2" receivers. I know about the Torklift Ecohitch, but $300 is over my budget.

Any other bolt-on solutions out there?

You can run an adapter for a 2 bike rack just fine since your not going offroad.

Class 1 hitches are everywhere. 2" is hard to find because the car isnt rated for it.

Yeah don't spend a $111. It's two pieces of tubing welded together.

Plus mounting plates specifically for the car and everything else

Way cheaper than sourcing the steel and doing all the fab work anymore.

Isn't that what all receiver hitches are? I'm fairly certain that's what the $300 one is. I guess I don't understand what you are implying.
How can anyone who's been riding as long as I have, be so slow???

By somebody with a welder that is certified to weld and has liability insurance to cover said welds.

Pretty sure a hitch is a little more than “two tubes welded together”.

As far as load reduction, I don’t know. I suspect that a Kia doesn’t have a very high tow rating.

The 1.25->2 adapter might work. Just need to see if the Sherpa has a min insertion requirement.

BTW, this is the receiver that I referenced in a previous post: Torklift Ecohitch Hidden Kia Soul 2014-16 2 in. Receiver - By Torklift Central | Hitchsource.com
