    Honda Fit - Securing Bike

I have a new Honda Fit and love it. Bike fits like a glove. I would like to keep the car looking as new as possible. I lay a blanket down before loading the bike rear wheel in first and front wheel removed. How do others keep their Fit from getting mucked up from the bike? Also, how is your bike secured from falling over?

I use to transport my bikes inside my Fit but after muddy rides it was just too hard to keep the interior from getting dirty. You can buy a roll of thin plastic that painters use at Home Depot or Lowes and spread it around the interior to keep it clean. It's cheap enough that you can throw it away after a few uses and a large roll will last a long time. I got tired of cleaning all the dried mud off the seatback and bought a Yakima King Joe 3. It hangs off the back of the car perfectly and has enough space that I can hold three bikes without scratching the car. I use a thick cable and a heavy duty lock to keep them safe and secure.
