Honda Civic + Yakima Roof Rack = Slipping?

My yakima rack towers keep slipping on the front half, causing the feet to rub the paint.. not good. I tighten down the clamp every damnm time it slides back, but it just does it again by the push of my finger. Any sugg?

You know what, I haven't. I didn't think they could do anything to fix it, but maybe I should...

The rack should not be able to slide that easily. Contact Yakima and tell them about it. Possibly they gave you the incorrect parts(pads and clips) or its on incorrectly??? anyway deffinitly call their CSRs and talk to them. If they don't give you the right answer ask to talk to someone above them(fit specialist or engineer)

I'm assuming the tower is your problem. There's a metal fastener that cinches down your roof when you close the big plastic clasp (the one with the hole for the lock). The metal fastener can be seen moving up and down when you open and close the clasp. Sometimes, there's not enough clearance between the top of that metal piece and the cross bar. I took mine to a grinding wheel and took off about 1/8 of an inch on that gold colored metal fastener to let it travel higher and closer to the cross bar.
