    Hitch Rack That Accepts Trays?

I thought I saw one of these, but can't find anything even close to it w/ a google search. Basically, it was a football goal post shaped fork that accepts roof rack trays (Thule, specifically). Any help is appreciated!

Thule used to make one way back in the day. I think they were called the "Space" Racks? At the time, they never really took off since they were a component system and lots of $$$

I had a Hollywood fork mount hitch rack a few years back. Before I sold it, I had intentions of swapping our the fork mounts (the Hollywood ones had managed to disassemble themselves on the highway) and installing nicer Thule/Yakima trays. They were basically just round bars.

thule used to make one that was a 2 part system...the base was a space station, and the fork mounts were the velo vise module.
long since discontinued, at least 5 years ago.....

yakima had one also, and i can't think of the name anymore. it's been several years since we've seen any of these around.

Sounds like you already have an idea of what you want. Have any friends that weld? Should be a fairly simple thing to build up and then have powdercoated.

Went looking for images, but my google-fu has failed me. Sorry.

I wanted to do this as well, as I have one of the Hollywood racks. Great rack, but the bars are a different diameter, so none of my standard Yakima round bar gear will fit. I am using the locking Yakima 9mm skewers, but it is more of a mild deterrent, due to the way that the mounts attach to "bars".

You could mount a "universal" bike mount, such as Inno, Rocky Mounts, etc., however.
