    Hitch Rack

Have a bit of an odd request. I'm looking for a hitch rack (2" if that matters), that when folded up has an extremely slim footprint. Currently don't have a ton of room in the back of my garage with the door shut and don't want to keep lugging it on and off. Anyone have any suggestions?

1up racks are about as tight as you can get.

are people actually concerned about blocking the rear license plate? Here in Colorado there are thousands of cars with bike racks on them all the time. Their license plates are always partially blocked and I've never heard of an issue.

My rack is always on, but if I folde it up, it completely blocks the plate. I think it's illegal in CA.

I've got a 1Up rack and when not in use it's folded up. Takes very little space, but it does obscure the license plate. With it down and bikes on, it obscures the license plate as well. Fortunately, the law enforcement folks in Eastern Washington don't seem to mind so far.

I've live in California and I've had a Kuat Rack on the back of my pickup for 6 years and it too, blocks the plate. Never been bothered about it.

Never been pulled over for my hitch rack either. Just to be safe, I make sure there's no dead bodies in the car.
