    Help installing Thule Rack

I'm having problems locking the bars in once they are slid through the mounting feet. The instructions says to squeeze the tensioning cam to lock the feet in position. Is there a trick to doing this? There is too much resistance.

    Thanks,

    Ed

The rubber coating on the bars is being compressed when you squeeze the clips. What worked for me was to carefully screw down the attachment system (the ones with the key cylinders) while the rack is on the car, which pulls the clips in to the assembly.

you only need to squeeze the cam enough to stop the tower moving while you put the bar on the car, turning the handle when the bar is on the roof pulls the cam in flush with the back of the tower and pulls the clip tight onto the door jamb. There's no way you can squeeze the cam flush with the back of the tower with your hands
