Got a small issue with my 1Up rack, maybe other racks do this, too?

My front wheel shimmies when I have the bike on the rack, kind of a high-speed wobble. Has anyone had this and were you able to fix it? I was thinking maybe a Velcro strap, but I'd like a permanent solution.

And, no, Supergluing the headset is not an option.

Is the front wheel out in the wind on the side of the car? If so, position it back a bit. The front wheel will turn on the headset axis slightly and if it bothers you, you can do a velcro strap. The bike won't come out of the rack.

I have a roof top tray too and it will do that a bit up there when the front wheel is aimed into a 75mph wind, but the bike is solidly in place.

There were some threads on this somewhere in this sub-forum... maybe in the 120 page 1up post...

From memory, it seems mostly related to the aerodynamics of the car... mostly small sedans I think. I don't have the issue on my hatchback or SUV.

As JohnJ80 writes it's not a functional issue, but I would imagine it's annoying.

1up now has these that you could try, but I don't think it's a guaranteed solution.

Thanks, guys. I don't think the Wheel Saver will do the trick, as the wheel isn't moving. I think John is correct by suggesting I move the front wheel out of the wind. I'll try that, first.

It just looks silly, is all, to have that front wheel quaking like that.
