    Fork Mount vs. Upright

So I am looking to get a set up Yakima bike racks and dont know whether i should go fork mount of upright mount.

here is what I am looking at:

    Fork:

2012 Yakima ForkLift Bike Rack - Fits Any Crossbars Including Factory Racks - 8002098

    Upright:

2012 Yakima Raptor Aero Bike Rack - Mounts Directly to Factory Racks - 8002093

Is there any advantage going one way or the other? I was thinking the upright so I could keep my muddy tires out of the trunk.

    Thanks!

It's nice not having to take your front wheel off.

I'll take a fork mount anytime. While maybe not as convienant, the fork mounts are way more secure than any upright rack.

I have a thule 594xt swing arm that I have taken to tahoe a few times, at speeds >90 and had no problems with the upright rack. I have taken it of road as well and the only problem is that it is really tall on top of my touareg, but its completely stable. It really nice not taking your wheel of everytime
