Extra security on Thule Cross Bars

Thought I'd share a mod I've made to my Thule Aerobars to (hopefully) increase the security of the bikes.

It uses 2 pairs of the Thule eyebolts pt no. 320 to hold a Masterlock 8019LP loop chain and lock.

I've added them to the rear bar and being inboard should make it trickier to get to and mess with them.

I found the eyebolts cheapest on Ebay from a Ford dealer - their pt no. for a pair is 1569243.

Looks pretty good, but if I were you, Id just put carriage bolts straight through the rack and the deck boards and grind the nuts round on the other side. Just make sure you use hardware rates for treated lumber. Stainless is sweet, but galvanized will do.
