    Can You Recommend Some Crossbars?

    Hey, everyone.

I bought a roof rack for my Jeep from someone I ride with every week. It's in great condition, and I have no doubts about its ability to keep my bike in place during transport.

Where I have doubts is when it comes to the crossbars that came installed on my Jeep when I bought it. They're metal, but they don't seem like they're incredibly sturdy. Everyone who looked at it during the installation of the rack at the end of the group ride this past Wednesday said that they seem fine, but... IDK. I think I want better than "fine."

So, with that, I ask for recommendations on a good brand and model of crossbars that will fit my Jeep.

    Year: 1996
    Make: Jeep
    Model: Grand Cherokee
    Trim: Laredo
    Engine: 4.0L 6-cylinder
    Drive: Four-wheel drive

I'm looking for something that isn't gonna break the bank, but will be more stable than what I have now. Unfortunately, I don't know the brand or model of the bars that I have now; they're not labeled anywhere. When I say "break the bank," I'm referring to some of the mounts I saw on the Rhino Rack website, that cost $400 - $500! ~$200 seems like a reasonable price.

Thanks, everyone! I really want to take to using this new rack I bought, but I hesitate to, since I don't wanna see my bike bounce down the highway at 60 MPH.

I have the Rhino Rack Aero bars and love them. You are correct that they aren't cheap, but your bike isn't going to sail down the highway either. http://www.etrailer.com/multi-produc..._1&manuf=RHINO

According to that website, that rack will not fit my Jeep.
