    bike luggage case?

Anybody have any recommendations regarding mountain bike luggage cases to use for travel via plane? Also, any good or horror stories of such appreciated too? Such could help me weigh pros and cons for either travelling with my mountain bike or leaving it at home and using a rental at the destination instead.

    Bike case and renting bikes.

I use the "Tri all three sports" case. Google it.

It works well. I have the compact size and I ride a 56cm road bike and a 19" mtb. My 29er fits in it as well(its a cannondale with a lefty). They are expensive but well worth it.

I hate renting bikes. It's difficult to find nice rentals and then it takes a lot of time running down to the bike shop and picking up and returning the bike, etc. There's nothing like waking up on vacation knowing that you have your bike.

Looking for suggestions as well - something as lightweight as possible to spare airline weight fees.
