I can't believe I haven't found any threads on this...so here goes...

I have a yakima bigorn hitch mount, and have had the straps pop off a number of times now. At first I thought it was just me fogetting to secure them properly, but it's happened after triple checking (just about lost my mojo on the freeway ).

The straps seem well designed, but what I think is happening is that the plastic cradles on the arms of the rack move, so they are no longer straight across from each other (one moves along the arm toward the car, the other away from the car),this adds a sideways force against the straps, which added to the regular bouncing, allows them to work their way undone.

I am hoping that fixing the cradles in place on the arms should fix it...but I'm not sure, and am wondering if other folks have run into this...thanks...
