Any Concerns as Bike Rack Ages?

I've enjoyed my Thule T2 for many years now. It was a huge improvement over its predecessor. Now after 10(?) years or so I sometimes wonder if the plastic parts in the arm are trustworthy. It still seems to work well, but as I trust it with my nice expensive bike a couple of times a week, I wonder if there is anything I can do to make sure it doesn't have a problem...

Anyone else have this concern? Any suggestions of things to check to increase my confidence? Is it possible -and worth it - to replace the arm I use most often? Is there a list of common failure modes for the Thule T2?

I know there are lots of questions - but I'd prefer to ask the question now rather than after there's a problem - if there might be one.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

I would think so long as it passes a visual inspection and you can't see any of the plastic bits getting brittle that you should be fine. Maybe give Thule a call to discuss your concerns. They warranty that carrier for life so they can certainly point you in the right direction.

They seem to hold up pretty well but I'm still going to upgrade when the newer version comes out in the next month or two
