    15mm thru axle fork adapter

Im trying to stay Yakima for this fork adapter. However, Im a little concerned because this does not come with a lock. Is it even worth it spending more on a different brand of fork adapter that comes with a lock? Im concerned with the durability as well. Feedback appreciated.

Durability is excellent, the Fork Up, which both Yakima and Thule private label, has been in production since 1996 and have 10s of thousands sold with very little problems.
As far as a locking mechanism, we are working on that, we just want to get it right and reliable the first time, but we have been successful using cables, which are far more secure than any rack lock. There are other adaptors that unsuccessfully copied our patent and the locks on them have proved to fail.

Thanks Jeff. I was thinking of exactly the same thing.

It seems simple that one could make something that uses the rack's existing skewer lock. It would look something like a typical wrench with one end open and the other end boxed. The forked end fits on the rack skewer and a looped end fits over the thruaxle fork's QR lever (assuming its not pointed down). That way the fork QR can't be opened unless the rack is opened. Does it look something like that Jeff? How long until its ready? I've never worked metal before, but I was thinking of fabbing one up to learn and see if I could make something useful.
