07 Outback Wagon & Thule trunk Rack

I have a Thule trunk rack that will take three bikes, however I can't find a good way to use the rack on my Outback. The problem seems to be mounting the rack while using the top pull down cords, the only place I can see to secure these is on the plastic air deflector for the middle brake light. And that plastic deflector doesn't look like it would hold very well and I don't want to brake it.

I suppose I could run the pull down up to the roof rack rails on both sides, it just seems like there should be a better way. I checked Thule's web site but couldn't find any diagrams that would help.

Has anyone found a good way to use a truck rack on an Outback Wagon?

    Thanks,

I've got the same car, and I don't think you can do it. That spoiler is too weak to hold weight.

You're going to have to get a hitch mount rack, or some roof racks.

I'm not sure about the Legacy wagons or Outbacks, but the sheetmetal on the hatch on my Impreza wagon is so thin that it'll dent if you look at it funny.

No way would I use a trunkmount on it.
