    ... and if we just ... XX1 Q-factor for 29er Scalpel?

    Ahoy there, folks!

Thinking of converting my 2012 Scalpel 29er 2 to XX1. I see there are two Q-factors, and usually I'd go with the wider one to make sure there is frame clearance, but given that there will only be one chainring up front, does that let me pick the smaller Q-factor? Or, is it the crank arms that may strike the frame if I go too narrow?

IIRC, the Q-factors available for XX1 are 156 and 164. So, at the end of the day, the wider is only 8mm wider, if I'm understanding this correctly...

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!!!

From my understanding the 156q will fit a 2012 scalpel 26", but the clearance is very small. A couple of millimeters. I will be getting the widest of the two for myself.

I doubt there would be more room on your 29".

Go with the wider Q-factor for the 29er. I believe QBP actually lists them at 168Q and 156Q. They are still not in stock unless your lbs acquired one on a pre-order.
