What other non Cannondale bike is most like the Scalpel?

I love the Scalpel but its my first 29er and full suspension. I'm curious what other bike is most similar that is a little bit plusher with equal or shorter chain stays. I did put the head tube spacer on the bottom to slacken the angle, which really worked well for me.

    Thanks

I forgot to mention I think the Turner Czar looks like a candidate.

Lenz Fattilac. If I were you I'd wait a few months and see how this whole plus thing shakes out. Keep the Scalpel and add a 27.5+ or a 29+ as a trail bike. I'm betting Salsa will have a new 27+ bike that will kick ass. Or, if you can't wait, pick up a Bucksaw and get a 27+ wheelset built for it.

If you talking about the current 29er then there's plenty. The 29er scalpel is nothing special. I've had every scalpel since the 2001 model and the current bike in my experience is a big disappointment.
A better bike with layout more close to the original scalpel is the Orbea oiz which is way nicer than the current scalpel

The current model, which if memory serves, has had the same geometry for the past few years (maybe since 2012ish) has been lauded by the bike press as one of the best xc bikes on the planet.

I'll once again plug the Bucksaw. Totally different from my scalpel...plush, forgiving and capable of riding in snow and sand. I use the dropper post all the time and love my 740 bars. My stable of these two bike plus a SS is near perfect.

Really which bike press would that be....?
Compared to the 2008 -2011 design the 29 er is rubbish.
The suspension feels distant and energy sapping. The only thing they improved is the lefty.

Oh sweet Jesus just about every major outlet and magazine. Google scalpel review and see what ya get. Off the top of my head, this year's Bike Magazine Bible of Bike Tests is where I think I got "one of the best xc bikes on the planet" quote from.

God has spoken to me personally, and she likes the Scalpel best.

back to the "best Xc bike on the planet"...

when last did the Scalpel win a major event?

Compared to say a Scott, BMC, Specialised, Orbea, Giant, Stockli, Merida or Canyon?

I wouldn't base my bike choice on what the pros ride. Nino would be just as dominant on another brand. If he rode for cannondale I doubt it would change anything
