    SN question

Erm, a bit silly, I know, but what is the serial number of my Flash ?
On the BB I have three numbers, a long one, a short one and one with the frame's color.
    Which one is the SN?
    Cheers!

i was told by my lbs it is the one that that is stickied on the frame. so if someone pulled the sticky off owner is out of luck.
do what i did, go buy a 20 dollar engraver and place ur own s/n on the bike, u can use that as a means to id ur bike if stolen.

unfortunately there are a lot of people on here that if ur not talking about the cool colored shocks or cranks, they are not very helpful.

this is the Q i had reference s/n

    http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=692732

i confirmed the above and thats why i bought the engraver and engraved the s/n on the bottom and one other place.

if u try and use the long number for id purposes the police will tell u that it is a number indicative of a batch of bikes made and will not and can not use it to get ur bike back or file charges.

i know because i am a police officer.

    hope i helped

kel, I'm not with the bike right now but I remember one of the numbers being on a sticker. If that's the SN (SN on a sticker?!? ) I guess I'll have to engrave it there with my Dremel. Thanks for the heads-up!
I'll try writing to Cannondale and see what they say.

i got my information reference the batch number etc from one of the owners of the bike shop i frequent; he had his bike stolen out of his house.
my owners manual stated that the stickered number was thes/n...that how i started figuring it out. check the numbers in ur manual-mine was in the back.
whatever you find out let me know.

I sent them an e-mail (through their web form). Let's see if they get back at me.

From a Cannondale 2010 Bicycle Manual.

"The serial number for your bike is located on a barcoded label which is attached permanently to the underside of the bottom bracket"

And from the same manual that shows a picture of such it indicates that the serial number has 7 characters.

The Brazilian Cannondale distributor got back to me, and according to him the SN is the one with the bar code.
    On a sticker .
