    Scalpel = Good

    Even a 97% complete scalpel kicks ass. You don't even need a whole bike to be able to keep your lead at the cape epic. Check it out!

    Yeah!

    Jakob flatted, his CO2 cartridge didn't work, a second one didn't either, the adaptor was the culprit, he then got one from someone else, only to find out his spare tube was damaged so he had to fix it again... later, 18km from the finish, he flatted again! This time he didn't have anything to repair so Roel felt stronger, took Jakob's rear wheel and pedaled the last 18km on a bare rim! Impressive strength and teamwork. Their performance at Cape Epic bodes well for a good 2008 season for Cannondale-Vredestein.

    U gotta be a nutter to do that, got a nice low-pro look to the wheel though.

    I'd try that only in the case where somone else was paying for my new wheel.

    Yep, the wheel is definitely destroyed. I'd love to see a pic of it after the carnage.

    I remember getting passed in a terribly muddy XC race one - by a junior in a class that started 15 minutes behind me - and realized he was running on front rim only. That'll really make you feel slow.

    You must have to ride really smoothly to maintain traction on a bare rim.
    Sounds like a phenomenal effort!
