    Prophet shock inverted?

In a crash I broke the main nipple off the radium 3-way on my prophet 1000. It seems like it would be better protected if I inverted the shock which would position the nipple closer to the swingarm and hence a little more protected. Is it OK to invert the shock? Immediate concerns are the shock hitting the frame upon extreme/bottoming compression and the fact that the telescope seal would now be more exposed to the elements.

    Thanks,

Sounds like time for a new Fox DHX 5.0.

I was able to replace the nipple and I've been riding with it inverted for a month now and I like it... no problems.
