Long steerer tube for a Lefty.

Has anybody any used a long (240mm) steerer tube with the lefty? I've got back problems and need to be more upright on my Scalpel 100, thinking this may help get me in a better position on the bike.
Do you just use spacers as you would a 'normal' set up?
Any help would be great, Cheers Guys.

The kit does come with spacers to adjust the height of the stem.

I have one on my 29'er. Works great and allows me to get into a more comfortable position.
