You cannot change the stem angle (you'll have to get a new stem), although you can change the HEAD angle by moving the headtube spacer from top to bottom (which I highly recommend!!)

Well, there are a few spacers under the stem that can be put or removed to make the bars higher or lower..

As the attached graphic above illustrates, there are various lengths and angles for the Scalpel 2014 / 2015 stem. I changed mine from a -5, 110mm to a -15, 90mm, and the subsequent change in handling was totally better. The shorter and lower stem made it easier to make quick and tight turns and I didn't feel so upright. I also removed the spacers from the top.

The critical issue here is finding the stem that is right for you and the tricky removal process. These stems are not easy to find and I have spoken to Cannondale HQ about this and they admit there is an inventory problem. That was last May so I hope they have resolved it. I bought my 90mm stem from Europe, which was the only place I could find one.

I removed and replaced my own stem but had to purchase the "Ernie" tool which can only be found in Cannondale specialist stores - and this tool had to be special ordered. But that was in May, so hopefully they replenished those too.

    Good luck.
