Beautiful! What are you using to keep the chain on the chain ring? Just a front deraileur?

    for now , yes.

    it's the XX front der

i choose to not dismount it , left gripshift and cable and hose too

in this way , i can fine adjust chain rub and changing spider and rings , re- convert the bike in a 2 x 10 in few steps ...

i love to wash often my bikes ... after every ride ...like my body . hoping the same for you

and when i install a new part , normally bikes are cleaned up : for example a new cranset installed with a dirty BB shell makes ugly noises

but lucky me ... i have some pics in my pocket for this situation ...

with me always a coin to call home , toilet paper , and a bottle of whiskey

Eliflap, that is one hell of a ride you got there I noticed that you are running 1x10 now with gripshift. I'm currently running 1x9 and want to also go 1x10. Is it worth it and also, how is the shifting with the modified shifter? Did it cost you much?

on Facebook i asked a technical info to Rotor ...

reading the manual and see my built i was not really satisfied ...

they replied me and discovered a wrong installation.

so in the ring close up picture the hole at 7 o clock must be tuned at 12 o clock

    here right picture after re-installation

tomorrow 1st ride ...in the rain ....... damn

a spanish company done the tuning

but now they stopped to do it .... don't know why

yes they work ! 98% of 100 ... not the perfection ... but close to it

i mean : in some situations you must do a click + a little step to change gear ... but only few times ... maybe depending not really from gripshift ...

    terrific bike eliflap

??? weather is nice & sunny here 8 miles from LAX, no rain for sunday perhaps fog early on

mrs culturesponge has her 33t Q ring on the 2 dots central position & didn't like the other 2 options either

not bothered about XX or BCB twisters anymore - instead will be upgrading 2x XTR 11/32 to Tiso 12/36 instead - shame its just red or gold ano options for the 36t cog

...now what to do with unwanted XX 11-36 cassette?

mine is a ciclocross ring , 110 mm BCD

so, as the road one , it has 5 position to try.

done 110 km with the position 3 , 250-300 km to goal before done some modification

I hope you have a very good time in America. I have to ask how many different crank/ring/spindel combo's have been on this bike so far and could you do a quick rundown of the pro's and con's. For instance you had a Lightening on it at one point. Also you had Hollowgram with Zeta rings, which is the way I'm leaning. Now you're doing the 1X10 thing which seems fashionable but not practical, except on race courses designed for that sort of thing.

As for the 10speed gripshift that ALMOST works all the time... that just wouldn't cut it for me. I love my Gripshifters and won't be getting rid of them for any true mountain bike. The 2X10, carbon, 2.0 tubular equiped, 29'er I'm putting together is going to be something quite a bit different than my Scalpel, almost half way to a cross bike...
